Deterministic Dice Rolling & Shared Rolls

12 July 2026

v1.6.2

Minor
Requested Features

Roll together, roll fair 🎲

"Did you actually roll that, or did the app just tell me you did?"

This release is all about the dice. The 3D roller has been rebuilt to be deterministic, so the same roll now looks identical wherever it's shown—which unlocks sharing live dice rolls with your players. There's also folder support for organising encounters, a configurable bloodied threshold, and a handful of bug fixes.

What's included in v1.6.2

Deterministic dice, shared with players 🎲

  • Deterministic dice engine: The 3D dice roller has been upgraded so every roll is fully deterministic—the physics always settle on the number that was actually rolled, no more mismatched faces
  • Share rolls with your players: Turn on roll sharing for a session and players see your dice land with the same result, in real time, right in their player view
  • Roll secretly: Even with sharing switched on, you can still roll behind the screen—secret rolls stay hidden from players until you decide to reveal them
  • Skip the animation: Turn off the 3D dice for instant results when you just want the number and not the show

Deterministic Rolling

Rollable spell cards ✨

  • Roll straight from the spell card: Clickable dice rolling now extends to spell previews, so damage, saves and attack bonuses roll the same way they already do from stat blocks
  • Up-casting support: Cast a spell at a higher level and its damage dice scale automatically, so the roll button always reflects the level you're casting at

Deterministic Rolling

Smarter encounter organisation 📁

  • Encounter folders: Group encounters into folders—handy for keeping a whole adventuring day, or a story arc, together

Deterministic Rolling

Customisation ❤️‍🩹

  • Configurable bloodied threshold: The bloodied health bar indicator now defaults to 50% (per the 5e rules) but can be adjusted to whatever your table uses

Deterministic Rolling

Bug fixes and UX tweaks ✨

  • Player view timeouts: Fixed player view sessions expiring too quickly
  • Drawer data loss: Drawers no longer close (and discard your changes) when you click outside them by accident
  • Drawer animations: Fixed some drawer animations getting stuck partway on alternative browsers, preventing them from fully opening

What's coming next 🔮

  • Group initiative: Group creatures together in the initiative list, so a pack of goblins can share a single initiative
